Chord Prompter

The Chord Prompter turns the chord bar into a teleprompter: the chords you just played fade out on the left, the current one sits large in the centre and the next two are already waiting on the right. You’re never caught off guard by a quick change.

Turn on the prompter

  • Turn on Chord Prompter once in Settings → Practice.
  • Open a song. A  prompter icon appears in the chord bar, next to CHORDS.
  • Click the icon to switch the chord bar between the single chord name and the prompter.

The next two chords

  • A burst of quick chords is squeezed into a tight group in smaller type, so it reads as one run instead of pushing everything else off the bar.
  • The prompter follows the playhead when you scrub or pause, so you can look ahead before you start.
  • Chord names follow your key change and naming settings.

If the prompter says No chords detected, the song may be a single melody line, or the chords sit in an instrument Orfeo isn’t reading. See If the chords look wrong.

Use case: sight-read a lead sheet

Hide the piano track, turn on the prompter and comp along from the chord names alone. With the next two chords always in view, your hands can get ready before each change.
