Presentation Mode

Presentation Mode fills the screen with just the piano roll and the keyboard, with no panels, bars or buttons in the way. Use it for practice without distractions, for teaching on a big screen, or for recording a video of a piece.

Do this

Enter

Press F11, or click the expand button  at the right end of the bar under the keyboard.

Press Esc or F11, or click the shrink button  in the same place.

In Presentation Mode, Esc only leaves the mode; it does not stop playback. Press Esc again to stop.

What changes on screen

  • Orfeo goes full screen, hiding the Windows taskbar and title bar.
  • The left panel (Library and Setup), the  Tracks panel, the chord bar and the note counter are hidden.
  • The top bar slides out of view. Move the mouse to the very top edge of the screen and it slides back in, so you can still play, pause, change tempo or transpose. It hides again shortly after the mouse leaves.
  • Everything else keeps working: loops, muted and hidden tracks, hand colours, visual effects and your MIDI keyboard.

If the Note Editor is open

Presentation Mode closes the  MIDI Note Editor. If you have unsaved note edits, pressing F11 first asks whether to Save, Discard or Cancel.

 Tip

Want more room without going full screen? Turn on Close panels on playback and the side panels step aside only while the music plays.
